About Basia
How I work
Our work together will include bringing awareness in the present moment, allowing you to notice your experience as it takes place. Awareness in the present moment, otherwise called mindfulness, allows a shift (and relief) from our patterns and suffering.

I work in a very compassionate, and creative / inventive way. During our sessions I may combine mindfulness, art, movement, embodiment, and EMDR. I am clear in my communication and I make sure things make logical sense to my clients but my way of working is quite different from cognitive approaches.

Life and therapy can be challenging and so I bring a lot of warmth and understanding for my clients. Therapy is an offering of presence and is a joint process. Over time, a grounded and stable being to being relationship is established. This relational stability and trust, allows us to share and explore parts that have been hidden and alone, and only now have the opportunity to come to the surface. A feeling of wholeness and authenticity is the result.

Who do I work with?
I have experience working with people from all walks of life, different ages and cultures. I often see clients who identify as neurodivergent, and/or multicultural, with a history of trauma, nervous system dysregulation and ptsd, c-ptsd. I can help people with anxiety, stress and overwhelm as well as phobias and activation, depression, loneliness and relational issues.

How often do sessions take place?
I offer weekly sessions on a regular basis. This is important in establishing a stable relationship which is pivotal in therapeutic work.

Why Mindfulness Based (Core Process) Psychotherapy?
I have been receiving Mindfulness Based (Core Process) Psychotherapy for many years, and it has helped me through very difficult times in my life and also has helped me grow as a person.

I am passionate about this type of therapy, and the wonderful way it works through our past issues and patterns, by bringing awareness to the present moment. This is challenging work but facing our suffering and trauma is possible through the gentle and compassionate holding of a skilled therapist. There is a sense of togetherness that can make the processing of trauma accessible.
I am happy to be able to offer this to support others, through their own journeys and life challenges, anxieties and difficulties.
